Flexible BOE displays with Qualcomm 3D Sonic sub-screen scanners will appear on smartphones in the second half of 2020

Qualcomm has already begun work to incorporate its solutions into BOE’s flexible OLED panels. Qualcomm says the partnership aims to provide OEMs with better solutions.

Qualcomm Technologies’ senior vice president and chief operating officer, Roawen Chen, said the partnership will provide more opportunities to develop advanced products with OLED displays equipped with 3D Sonic scanners in 5G and the Internet of Things.

Qualcomm believes that this partnership will streamline the supply chain, reduce research and development costs, as well as the cost of the final product. As a result, BOE will offer its customers flexible displays with on-screen 3D Sonic scanners. Commercial devices with this integrated solution will be available in the second half of 2020.
