Flexible smartphone Samsung Galaxy W21 appeared in the photos

Earlier it was reported that Samsung is preparing to release another folding smartphone. The novelty appears under the model number SM-W2021 and is called Galaxy W21. Recently, the first photos of the gadget, allowing you to look at it from all sides, appeared in the database of the China Telecommunications Equipment Certification Authority (TENAA).

Recall that the Galaxy W series is a limited edition premium smartphone from Samsung, developed in partnership with the Chinese mobile operator China Telecom. Until 2018, phones using the clamshell form factor were released under this brand, but in 2019 the South Korean manufacturer began producing smartphones with flexible screens in this series.

Earlier rumors indicated that the Galaxy W21, due to launch this year, will be based on the Galaxy Z Fold2. Only in contrast to the latter, the novelty will offer gold, not bronze, as a color performance. Information found in the TENAA database confirmed this point. However, in photos, the device looks more silver than gold, while still echoing the common features of the Galaxy Z Fold2.

In addition, unlike the regular Galaxy Z Fold2 and Thom Browne Edition, the new Galaxy W21 can get a metal body instead of a glass one. The latest information also indicates that Samsung will only produce 30,000 units of the Galaxy W21.

According to previous leaks, the device has two displays. The main inner measures 6.23 inches diagonally. The novelty uses a double battery with a total capacity of 4250 mAh. The device is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset. The smartphone will receive support for 5G, as well as a Wi-Fi 6 wireless controller with support for 2.4 and 5 GHz bands.
