Flexible smartphones from Google and Xiaomi expected in 2021

Currently, Samsung, Motorola and Huawei are the key players in the global flexible display smartphone market. However, as early as next year, according to Internet sources, the competition in this segment will sharpen significantly.

Ross Young, founder and CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), claims that in 2021, three well-known Chinese developers will announce commercial devices with flexible screens: OPPO, Vivo and Xiaomi. Together they will unveil four foldable smartphones, so one company will bring two flexible devices to market.

In addition, giant Google is expected to present its first flexible screen device. Obviously, this gadget will be part of the Pixel family.

The expansion of the range of flexible smartphones will continue and the current market players. In particular, Samsung is rumoured to have three such devices scheduled for next year. These will include the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 models, as well as a certain device with a Lite prefix: according to some sources, it may be Galaxy Z Fold Lite, according to others – Galaxy Z Flip Lite.

As new suppliers enter the flexible smartphone market, the cost of such gadgets will decline. This means that their share in the total volume of pipes sold will grow.
