For Cyberpunk 2077, 15-20% more lines were voiced than for the third Witcher with all the additions
Niko Partners senior analyst Daniel Ahmad attended the Cyberpunk 2077 Chinese dubbing session and shared his observations on his microblog.
According to Ahmad, Cyberpunk 2077 will offer 15-20% more voiced lines than The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, with both of its plot additions combined, could at one time.
At the same time, CD Projekt RED said earlier that Cyberpunk 2077 would not surpass the third part of The Witcher in terms of duration: in the cyberpunk action, the developers focused on the branching of quests.
In total, more than 150 actors are involved in the Chinese localization of Cyberpunk 2077, distributed across four recording studios: the process of dubbing 100 thousand lines of dialogue took about 10 thousand man-hours.
Despite such efforts by the translators, there are no plans for an official release of Cyberpunk 2077 in China. As Ahmad noted, this does not matter, because the game is released in the Steam allowed in the country.
In addition to the number of voiced lines, Cyberpunk 2077 will also receive more DLCs than The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. CD Projekt RED’s post-release plans are expected to be announced soon.
Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on November 19 on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and GeForce Now. As part of a recent report to investors, the developers once again assured that they are not going to transfer the game anymore.
