Ford has unveiled the 2021 Mustang Mach-E GT with a powerful 480hp electric motor. from. and fresh design
Ford has unveiled the highly anticipated 2021 Mustang Mach-E GT. The company has always advertised the Mach-E electric car as a full-fledged member of the Mustang family, so a more powerful GT variant was unveiled as expected. And, at least on paper, the beefed-up SUV doesn’t disappoint with 480 horsepower and 810 Nm of torque.
The automaker has provided more details on the Mustang Mach-E GT, although some details have already been revealed in the past. Ford has posted pictures of the GT in the past but has kept most of the specs and differences to themselves so far. At 480 horsepower, Ford estimates the SUV will accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.8 seconds and travel up to 400 km on a fully charged battery.
But that’s not all. In addition to the Mustang Mach-E GT, the company also announced the Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition. The latter can offer the same 480 hp. Sec., but receives 860 Nm of torque. Ford noted that this battery-powered SUV delivers 290 Nm more torque than the Mustang Mach 1. However, the emphasis on power for this version results in a loss of range, with Ford promising up to 380 km.
The regular GT and GT Performance Edition will receive a unique version of the Mustang Mach-E’s Unbridled mode called the Unbridled Extend for use on indoor trails only. The software allows the SUV to balance the battery output to ensure consistent lap times and adjust stability control for use. Ford also amplifies drivetrain noise to the cab to enhance the driving experience.
In terms of design, both SUVs have a charcoal gray front grille instead of the glossy color grille on the standard version, with an illuminated mustang badge in the center. Ford has revitalized the interior with sports seats for the standard GT and full-size Ford Performance seats for the GT PE.
Both models feature brass contrast stitching (brass for GT, metallic for Performance Edition) and perforated inlays. Nine Bang & Olufsen speakers with subwoofer are ready to deliver high-quality sound, and the SUVs also get Ford’s BlueCruise Advanced Cruise Control for unattended highway driving (you still need to keep an eye on the road).
Prices for the latest electric Mustangs start at $ 61,000 for the Mustang Mach-E GT and $ 66,000 for the Mach-E GT Performance Edition. In both cases, a US buyer is eligible for a $ 7,500 federal tax credit. The first SUVs will arrive in early fall, but orders will start taking place on Wednesday.
