This is the greenest watch on the market.
The well-known watch company Fossil introduced a new series of watches, applying an ecological approach to its creation. The analogue clock, called Fossil Solar, uses the energy of the sun, the case is made of bioplastic, and the packaging is fully recyclable.
Fossil said that this watch reflects the company’s desire to become completely “green” by 2025, that is, switch to renewable energy sources. The brand expects all products to be delivered in fully recyclable and/or reusable packaging.
The clock frame around the case is equipped with a solar panel that converts the energy of light into electrical energy. The watch is available in sizes 36 and 42 mm. We are talking about analog watches, so they can work up to four months on a full charge.
The watch case is made of bioplastics, which is made from castor oil. Buyers get a few straps that are made from recycled plastic bottles. Five straps of different colors are supplied. The box is made of cardboard, which can be used to store the straps, but in the future, it can be completely recycled.
The price of Fossil Solar is 129 and 149 euros, respectively, depending on the size, sales will begin in mid-May.
