Foxconn switches to round-the-clock assembly of iPhone 12: Apple doesn’t want it to work out the same way as with GeForce RTX 3080

According to fresh reports from Chinese media, Foxconn’s Zhengzhou factory, which produces the iPhone 12, is working around the clock to ensure the new smartphones are shipped. The company has also introduced mandatory overtime for all employees.

It is reported that employees who have agreed to work in such conditions, the company will pay wage increments of up to $ 1,500. Many workers have been asked to cancel all plans for the Mid-Autumn Festival and other holidays to keep the factory running smoothly. The first shipments of the iPhone 12 are expected to ship to retailers on October 5th, as the launch of the new smartphone family is tentatively scheduled for October 13th. The delivery dates for new devices are later than in previous years due to the global crisis associated with the coronavirus pandemic.

Apple is expected to unveil four iPhone 12 models at the October 13 event. The smallest smartphone rumored to be called the iPhone 12 mini will feature a 5.4-inch OLED display and will resemble the size of the iPhone 5. Two devices “Standard” size will be able to boast 6.1-inch screens, and the largest smartphone in the series will receive a 6.7-inch display. All new iPhones are expected to receive 5G support.

Despite the manufacturer’s best efforts, the 6.1- and 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro will most likely become available to users only in November.
