Full 4K, but unstable 60fps: blogger tested Resident Evil Village demo for PS5

Spanish blogger ElAnalistaDeBits posted a video demonstrating the technical component of Maiden, a demo version of Resident Evil Village for PlayStation 5, on his YouTube channel.

The fears of trusted insider Dusk Golem (aka AestheticGamer), who claimed that until recently, the PS5 version had serious problems even at 1080p, did not materialize.

According to measurements by ElAnalistaDeBits, Maiden runs on the new Sony console in “fair” 4K (2160p), although the official PlayStation website claims dynamic resolution for the Resident Evil Village itself.

ElAnalistaDeBits also drew attention to the quality of the textures: in the demo, they look worse (apparently lower resolution) than they appear in the published trailers of Resident Evil Village.

As for performance, in quiet moments, the PlayStation 5 keeps the frame / s counter at the required level – 60 without visible (or audible) effort. Problems start when enemies appear on the screen.

According to ElAnalistaDeBits, as soon as the enemy is shown in the frame, subsidence begins: on average, under such conditions, Maiden produces about 50-55 frames / s, and in especially tense moments – 47-48 frames / s.

As a reminder, Maiden is only available on PlayStation 5, but a Resident Evil Village demo will be released in the spring, which is designed for all target platforms. The release of the game is expected on May 7 on PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S.
