Full battery in minutes: smartphone developers will master 120W fast charging

Internet sources report that next year smartphone developers will begin to actively equip flagship devices with fast charging technology with a capacity of 120 watts or more.

There are already smartphones on the market with an ultra-fast charging power of over 100 watts. For example, Xiaomi in August announced the Mi 10 Ultra model with 120-watt charging: you can fully replenish the 4500 mAh battery in just 23 minutes.

Realme has already introduced a 125W UltraDart wired charging system. It can charge a 4000 mAh battery in approximately 20 minutes.

The renowned network informant Digital Chat Station reports that next year, many high-end smartphones will receive support for super-fast charging technology with a capacity of more than 120 watts.

Internet sources add that fast charging systems with a capacity of up to 200 watts are already in development. Obviously, in this case, it will take a few minutes to replenish the energy reserve.

In parallel, work is underway to increase the power of wireless charging. Xiaomi, for example, recently introduced an 80-watt wireless charging system that can fully charge a 4000 mAh battery in 19 minutes.

Let’s hope that in the pursuit of speed, manufacturers will not forget about reliability and durability, so that such high-speed charge replenishment systems do not lead to overheating of devices or more dire consequences, and do not cause rapid degradation of batteries.
