Future Motorola smartphones will receive support for external monitors and desktop mode

Several smartphone makers, including Samsung and Huawei, are giving their flagship smartphones desktop support. Thanks to him, when connected to an external monitor, the devices display an interface adapted for use in desktop mode on an additional screen. Now Motorola is reportedly implementing similar functionality.

It’s worth noting that Motorola is no stranger to this area. The company first demonstrated this technology almost a decade ago with the introduction of the Atrix 4G smartphone. With the help of a special docking station, the phone turned into a kind of laptop. However, the decision was somewhat cumbersome and proved that it was too early to carry out full-scale work in this direction.

However, now, reportedly, Motorola is once again developing a desktop mode for its smartphones. During the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit, a video was shown showing a Motorola smartphone connected to a monitor on which a full windowed interface can be observed.

It is likely that the new feature will be flaunting the company’s devices based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset presented today. Motorola’s plans to equip the next generation Moto G with the latest flagship processor, today, during the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit, announced the president of the company Sergio Buniak ( Sergio Buniac). In addition, the company plans to expand its range of 5G smartphones across all price segments.

The Motorola desktop interface shown in the video is very similar to what users are used to seeing in Microsoft Windows operating systems. We can only hope that such a convenient solution will appear in the company’s real smartphone in the near future.
