Gangsters, comics and ultraviolence: old-school hand-drawn action Fallen Aces announced

During the digital event Realms Deep, a full announcement of hand-drawn first-person action Fallen Aces from indie developers Trey Powell and Jason Bond was made. The game will appear on Steam “soon”.

Gangsters

Fallen Aces is designed in a style that is simultaneously reminiscent of noir films and comics of the nineties. Events unfold in Switchblade City. The employees of the ACES organization protecting the city are killed one by one. One of the surviving “aces” will have to restore order, the role of which is assigned to the player. The action promises to plunge into the “world of heroes, villains, crime, corruption, and betrayal

You will fight with fists, knives, pistols, a Thompson submachine gun, as well as improvised means like metal pipes and garbage cans. The levels will be non-linear: users will be able to destroy enemies in open combat, use stealth techniques, and combine approaches. There are three episodes with  “dozens” of levels and fully voiced videos, also hand-drawn. All drawings are completely original and by Powell. The atmosphere of gangster showdowns will be emphasized by “hundreds of authentic lines” of characters and a soundtrack recorded with the participation of a real orchestra.

Even owners of outdated computers will be able to play in Fallen Aces. Recommended system requirements published on Steam include a 2.4GHz quad-core processor, 4GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 graphics card. The game will require 1GB of free hard disk space.

The project was originally developed under the name Fallen Angels: Shadow Over Umburgh. A teaser for the revealed trailer was released in July. Published by New Blood Interactive, which helped bring out the old-school shooters Dusk, Amid Evil, and Ultrakill (the latter launched on Steam Early Access last week). The action will be presented in English only.
