According to the manufacturer, the new product will offer daily training plans, analyze sports performance and at the same time retain all the functions of a modern smartwatch. The devices have dozens of profiles of sports activities, including swimming in the pool, cross-country running, cycling and others.
The Forerunner 745 is lighter, weighs 47 grams, and measures 1.72 inches in diameter. For comparison, the older Forerunner 945 is 1.9 inches and weighs 50 grams. Forerunner 745 is Garmin’s smallest and lightest smartwatch to date with full running and triathlon features.
The watch is equipped with a 1.2-inch MIP transflective display with a resolution of 240 x 240 pixels, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass DX. There is 5ATM water protection. Battery life is 1 week in smartwatch mode, up to 16 hours in GPS mode, and up to 6 hours in GPS mode with music.
Forerunner 745 gets key fitness tracking tools from Firstbeat Analytics. – VO2 max, training load, training status, aerobic, and anaerobic training effect. In addition, the daily recommended running and cycling workouts are displayed based on your current training load and VO2 max.
The music streaming services Spotify and Deezer are installed, the Garmin Pay contactless payment system is supported (works in Russia), there is a pulse oximeter, the Body Battery function for choosing the optimal time for intense sports activities or for relaxation, tracking the menstrual cycle, stress level. The watch also accepts text messages, social media updates, and emails from a smartphone.
Forerunner 745 is available in 4 colors – black, white, green, and red. In Europe, they are offered for 591 Dollars. In Russia, the watch will become available for order in the fourth quarter of 2020.
