The Gorky Automobile Plant sued the Romanov Motors company for 3.9 million rubles for using the trademark “Running Deer – GAZ” in children’s electric cars “Mini Volga GAZ 21”. As Kommersant writes , the intellectual property rights court upheld the decision of the lower courts. The company managed to sell approximately 2 million rubles worth of electric vehicles.
Children’s electric cars used a trademark similar to the trademark of the Gorky Automobile Plant.” But GAZ did not give its permission to use the emblem. During pre-trial claims, the seller refused to disclose the origin of products bearing the GAZ trademark.

GAZ won the case. In August 2023, the appellate court upheld the decision of the trial court.
GAZ is now also suing a furniture company from the Stavropol Territory, which offers sofas with a similar logo.
