Ghost of Tsushima sold four times that of another new release, Paper Mario: The Origami King, for the Nintendo Switch. Yet the comedy-adventure reached # 2 on the charts. The game’s first-week sales surpassed the launch of the last two members of the Paper Mario series combined – Paper Mario: Color Splash for Wii U and Paper Mario: Sticker Star for 3DS, and Super Mario Paper for Wii, making Paper Mario: The Origami King the most successful launch in the history of the series. In addition, digital sales were not included in this data.
F1 2020 racing simulator dropped to number three on the chart (sales fell 59%). Animal Crossing: New Horizons is in the fourth position, and The Last of Us Part II is in fifth. All the games of the first five were released in 2020, which, in fact, is a rarity.
