Sony has not yet introduced the next generation of the Xperia 5 smartphone. Meanwhile, information about it has begun to accumulate on the network. This time, a video has become public, as stated on social networks – this is the official video advertisement from the manufacturer.
The video was originally posted by Reddit user JB2Unique and has also gone viral on Chinese social media.
Sony launched the Xperia 1 V earlier this year, continuing its line of super-powerful premium flagship phones. Sony has traditionally released a new generation of the Xperia 5 in the second half of the year.

Judging by the video, serious changes await us in the Xperia 5 series. On the back of the smartphone, only two camera modules are clearly visible in the video. This will be the first time in the series that Sony doesn’t offer a triple rear camera on the Xperia 5, which means the phone could be cheaper than its predecessors. You can also see the inscription ZEISS T * on the camera body, this also indicates that Sony will return the anti-glare coating to the smartphone.
On the front panel, noticeable frames are striking with a front camera on the top. The phone appears to have retained the 3.5mm port. The Xperia 1 V is shown in the video from all sides, in three color options – black, white and blue.
Sony usually releases its Xperia 5 models in September or October every year. However, such a leaked promotional video suggests that the Xperia 5 V might get a refresh in 2023 a little earlier.
According to earlier leaks, the sub-flagship could get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 12GB or 16GB of RAM.
