The Metacritic aggregator site has already been filled with reviews from a wide variety of Western publications. By the time the material was published, the number of reviews for the PS4 version had reached 13, and for the PS5 – 53.
In terms of the average score, editions for consoles of different generations barely differ 85% (PS5) versus 84% (PS4). For comparison, the original Marvel’s Spider-Man received 87% of critics at the time.
Journalists praise the prettier gameplay, fascinating plot, and charismatic characters, and criticize the short duration and lack of gameplay originality of the protagonist.
As for the PS4 vs PS5 comparisons, as promised, the experience turned out to be comparable, although the version for the next-gen console stands out from the technical point of view against the background of the 2013 edition.
The VentureBeat journalist gave the game the maximum score: “I’m not sure if the Sony home console had a better exclusive at launch than Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. It definitely exceeds Knack and Killzone: What’s the tagline for PlayStation 4 “.
The employee of the American IGN was also delighted with the project (90%): “Regardless of which generation you play it, this is a worthy sequel to one of the best superhero games in history. “
In GamesRadar game also appreciated (80%), but complained about the short duration: “Brilliant, but too fleeting glance at the life of Miles Morales Superhero”.
The game received the lowest rating (60%) from The Telegraph. According to the author of the publication, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is let down by “a modest gallery of mostly second-rate villains and a relative lack of outstanding scenes. “
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales goes on sale on November 12 for PS4 and PS5. A remaster of the original Marvel’s Spider-Man will be included with the full game (next-gen console only).
