On October 8th there will be a complete shutdown
The Japanese company Nintendo has announced bad news for fans of the arcade battle royale Pac-Man 99. In the coming months, Nintendo will stop distributing the main game and all DLC, as well as close the game servers.
The process of completely “turning off” Pac-Man 99 will be phased:
- Starting August 8, 2023, the distribution of paid themes will stop.
- Pac-Man 99 Deluxe Pack and Pac-Man 99 Mode Unlock will end on September 8, 2023.
- Starting October 8, 2023, distribution of the main Pac-Man 99 game and free themes will stop.
- Starting October 8, 2023, online services for the main game will be disabled.
Goodbye Pac-Man 99
Nintendo stressed that owners of any paid DLC will be able to continue playing offline in CPU Battle, Blind Time Attack and Score Attack after October 8.
As a reminder, Pac-Man 99 is free to play for Nintendo Switch owners using a paid Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
