This is a 5G capability messaging service
According to sources, the three largest mobile operators in China – China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom – held an online conference at which they introduced a new service called 5G Messages.
Goodbye SMS. In China, introduced a replacement as a service 5G Messages
5G Messages is actually a replacement for the usual SMS service, based on the capabilities of fifth-generation networks. So far, there are no special details on this subject, but it is reported that 5G Messages will provide more opportunities for the exchange of not only text messages, but also various data, including images and videos. In addition, 5G Messages will allow you to somehow interact with the computer in a new way, but the source only stipulates that through 5G Messages chats it will be possible to carry out comprehensive services, for example, search, interaction, and payments.
It is also reported that the conference was attended by 11 major smartphone manufacturers, including Huawei, Samsung, Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo, ZTE, Samsung, Lenovo, and Meizu. In particular, Huawei intends to start testing the new feature on April 10, and the project will move to the commercial stage in June. Of course, all this is true only for China, but one can expect that something similar will eventually appear on the global market.
