Innovations have already begun to appear in Android Auto 9.9
Google is working on improving Android Auto support for electric vehicles with infotainment systems. This was reported by the thematic resource 9to5Google.
As part of the APK Insight project, the authors of the resource “disassembled” the latest version of the application, uploaded by the company in the Google Play Store. As a result, evidence has been unearthed that hints at possible interesting future features.
As the source notes, in the past few updates, Google has been quietly developing new Android Auto features related to electric vehicles.
Google adds new features to Android Auto specifically for electric vehicles
Among such potential future innovations is the ability to manually identify a car as an electric vehicle and enable electric vehicle features in Google Maps on Android Auto. This all appears in Android Auto’s built-in settings menu, in a new section called EV Settings. Also noted is the ability to select the charging connector that the car uses, and visual battery meters.
Apparently, the evidence found did not deceive – the functions have already begun to appear in Android Auto 9.9, which demonstrates a screenshot in German.
