Groundbreaking Android Auto interface now available for non-touchscreen vehicles

Google has made a major update available to Android Auto users on non-touch car systems.

The groundbreaking Android Auto 8.5 interface, also codenamed Coolwalk, was previously only available on touchscreen systems.

Access to Android Auto 8.5 on systems with a hardware rotary control currently requires participation in the beta program. As noted by users who received the update, the update is fast.

The new Android Auto interface allows you to run more than one application at the same time on a split screen, has become more convenient to control while driving, with larger elements, and adapts to different screen sizes and orientations. Improvements have also been made to such key components as maps, voice assistant, media content and much more.
