Hackers figured out how to launch the hacked version of Outriders via Steam
Yesterday, April 1, the Outriders shooter was released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Series S. The game is a co-op, so it requires a constant connection to the Network. Despite this feature, hackers have already hacked the project and learned how to run it through Steam.
The relevant information was shared by a user of the Reddit forum under the pseudonym OrdinaryPearson. The cybercriminals uploaded all the necessary files to launch the English-language branch of the CS Rin resource dedicated to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The list includes the Outriders assembly and the hack, which must be installed on top of the game. At first, the pirated version’s launch was carried out using a demo version of the shooter, but now it is not needed either.
Visitors to the Reddit forum report that the hack works great. Moreover, players are free to have fun in co-op with users who bought Outriders on Steam with its help. The studio People Can Fly and the publishing house Square Enix has not yet reacted to the situation. However, we can assume that the developers will fix the vulnerability shortly.
