In September, when Huawei formally unveiled the HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system , it promised a beta version for mobile devices would be available to developers in December.

HarmonyOS 2.0 is the largest innovation in the industry. So says a representative of Huawei

With little left until December, Huawei’s head of consumer software said that the beta is currently progressing very well, everything is ready and the release will be on time.

We were also told a few details about the system itself. It turned out that inside Huawei the decision to start creating its own OS was made back in May 2016. Even then, Huawei already had a layout of the future market and possible technological directions.

We were also told what is the difference between HarmonyOS 2.0 and conventional operating systems. The fact is that conventionally any OS perceives a computer or other similar device as a module consisting of a CPU, display, speakers, storage, and so on. HarmonyOS 2.0 works differently. It perceives directly the IoT devices themselves as modules. For example, a lamp is a display module and a TV is a display module and a speaker module. And connections between devices in this case are converted into connections between modules, which should be easier.

A Huawei spokesperson called HarmonyOS 2.0 the biggest innovation in the industry, but of course we need to wait until the first devices are released.
