After Google disconnected Huawei from its services on mobile devices (Google Mobile Services, GMS), the Chinese had to rush to find alternatives. As a replacement for Google maps, it was decided to use the Here Technologies mapping service. The HERE WeGo application, which is directly responsible for navigation on the smartphone, appeared in the Huawei AppGallery program catalogue only yesterday.
At the time of writing the news, the number of installations of Here WeGo does not exceed a thousand, but for one day the application is in the catalog, this is not an indicator. The service supports voice commands and allows you to download maps to your smartphone – so that you can use navigation without connecting to the network. At the moment, Here WeGo has over 1300 cities around the world. The application also shows the cost of public transport tickets and the rates of various taxi services.
