HMD Global, which produces smartphones under the Nokia brand, has published the Sustainability Progress Report 2023, covering various aspects of the company’s development. There is also a part dedicated to caring for the environment and the decisions that come from it. For example, the company decided that it would sell refurbished Nokia smartphones.

Initially, such devices will appear on sale in Germany and the UK, but then they will also go to other markets.
The company also said that it donates returned or repaired phones to charity. In addition, HMD partnered with charity The Unconnected to donate 700 phones to people with digital problems, and through a partnership with ClearRivers, it helped remove 3.5 tons of plastic from rivers.
Separately, HMD speaks of a partnership with the Ecolog organization. As part of this initiative, the company has already planted more than 418,000 trees in various European countries.
