Hongqi is a premium car brand owned by the state-owned FAW. The brand is called the “Chinese Rolls-Royce” for its huge and expensive limousines, as well as the “Chinese Linkoln”, as it is a government brand preferred by diplomats and officials.
Hongqi E001 electric sedan was presented at the exhibition in Shanghai. This is the first vehicle under the Hongqi New Energy Vehicle (NEV) brand. The E001 is based on the new FME platform designed for electric vehicles and will be offered in two variants with a range of 600 km and 800 km.
The Hongqi NEV brand was launched in January when Hongqi also unveiled its global strategy. The company plans to officially bring its machines to Germany, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands and France. Hongqi is already selling its E-HS9 electric limousine in Norway and the Netherlands.
Hongqi E001 luxury sedan unveiled
The Hongqi E001 sedan will receive two engines with a total power of 618 hp. and a maximum torque of 756 Nm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h will take 3.9 seconds. The size of the battery has not yet been disclosed, but it is known that it is produced using Cell-to-Pack (CTP) technology, and a long-range version with a power reserve of 800 will allow the battery to be replaced in 60 seconds at appropriate stations.
Inside the car will be a long curved screen with a 6-inch instrument panel and a 15.5-inch main screen. There will also be a head-up display with augmented reality. All this will work under the control of FAW.OS of our own design.
Hongqi E001 will be able to replenish the range of 350 km in 5 minutes of charging. The sedan will support 30kW wireless charging, in addition, Hongqi will also release a version with a range of 1,000 km.
Blind pre-orders in China have already begun, the price has not yet been announced, but the first buyers will receive a lifetime warranty and free lifetime maintenance.
