For Super Mario Party 2.5 years after the release, an update was released with support for online games

Nintendo has released an update to Super Mario Party that adds support for online multiplayer on the Mario Party game board and 70 minigames. Fans have been waiting for this for 2.5 years.

Nintendo announced that 70 of the 80 minigames can now be played with friends online. The remaining ten are Strike It Rich, Time to Shine, Take a Stab, All-Star Swingers, Rhythm and Bruise, Pep Rally, Wiped Out, Fiddler on the hoof, Clearing the Table, and Baton and On.

Thanks to the update, you can compete against each other in supported games in an “all against all” format (for four participants) or team up in “2v2” or “1v3” teams.

You can also play online under the following conditions:

up to one player per system (from 2 to 4 players can participate);
up to two players per system (from 3 to 4 players can participate);
Two players on the third console cannot play matches with them if two users play on their own systems.

Super Mario Party was released on Nintendo Switch in October 2018.
