MatePad 5G is Huawei’s first mid-range 5G tablet

Huawei has unveiled the new MatePad 5G tablet in China. It is an improved version of the student MatePad and the first mid-range tablet from Huawei to support 5G 5G cellular networks.

Differences from the MatePad come down to 5G and Wi-Fi 6, the Kirin 820 5G platform instead of the previous Kirin 810 SoC, an increased minimum memory size – 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash memory, support for faster charging.

The tablet offers support for the M-Pencil stylus, four speakers, a 10.4-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1200 x 2000 pixels, two 8MP cameras, a 7250 mAh battery with a 22.5W charging power.

Dimensions are 245.2 x 154.96 x 7.45 mm. The device weighs 460 g. The tablet has an EMUI 10.1 shell based on the Android 10 operating system. The battery life is 12.5 hours. 

Taking pre-orders for the tablet starts today, and open sales start on September 23rd. The price is $ 473.
