Huawei launches Y9a with flagship design and 40W fast charging

A couple of days ago, Huawei introduced the Enjoy 20 Plus 5G smartphone aimed at the Chinese market. But the Enjoy models are subsequently often brought to the international market under different names. It happened this time too: as expected, Huawei announced the Y9a, which is the global version of the Enjoy 20 Plus 5G, but with a number of important differences.

Externally, the devices are identical – both have the design of the flagship Mate 30. Huawei Y9a received the same Full HD + (2400 × 1080) display with a diagonal of 6.63 inches, only, unfortunately, it lacks support for 90 Hz, unlike the Enjoy 20 Plus … 5G. In addition, the new device uses a less efficient platform: MediaTek Helio G80 instead of Dimensity 720.

The 4200mAh battery remains unchanged, as does the 40W fast charging. True, there is a small postscript on the Huawei website, which says that the smartphone will be equipped with a 40-watt charger only in some countries, and in the rest, the device will receive a 22.5-W adapter.

The camera has changed for the better. This device uses a rear quad camera in the form of a 2 × 2 matrix: it is a 64-megapixel 1 / 1.7 “main module with an f / 1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle (120 °) f / 2.4 module, and two auxiliary 2-megapixel sensors (macro and depth) The front camera is now hidden in a retractable unit (16-megapixel f / 2.2).
