Huawei smartphones will receive a quad camera with an unusual design
The website of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) has published Huawei patent documentation describing a very unusual multi-module camera: the solution is likely to appear in future smartphones of the company.
As you can see in the illustrations, the design provides for the use of a display with a small hole in the center in the upper area: there will be a single front camera. Everything is pretty familiar here.
The rear chamber is made in the form of two annular blocks enclosed in an oval-shaped area. Each of the blocks contains two optical components with image sensors. In between the rings is an LED flash. In this case, the entire camera protrudes in relation to the rear panel of the device.
The patent illustrations do not show a fingerprint scanner – it will probably be integrated directly into the screen area. It is about the presence of physical control buttons on the side and an asymmetrical USB Type-C port.
The patent application was filed in October last year, and it is only made public now. It is possible that the described design will be used in one of the powerful Huawei smartphones, the release of which is scheduled for this year.
