Huawei to release more affordable version of flagship P40 without 5G support

In the database of the Chinese regulator TENAA, a new Huawei smartphone was discovered, very similar to the P40. Apparently, the company has decided to release a more affordable version of the flagship device, which is likely to receive Huawei P40 4G. Judging by the certification documents, the device will be deprived of support for fifth-generation cellular networks.

Apparently, the company managed to stock up with Kirin 990 5G chipsets and the more affordable Kirin 990, which are equipped only with an LTE modem. Besides, the chip is content with lower CPU and NPU frequencies. Since the Huawei P40, 4G smartphone has already passed the certification; it is hoped that it will be presented soon. It is quite obvious that its cost will be lower than the base P40. It should be noted that the P40 4G will be an excellent choice for users from Russia and other regions where 5G networks have not yet been launched, which are not stopped by the lack of Google services in their smartphones. They will be able to purchase a powerful device with excellent cameras without overpaying for a communication standard not supported in the country.

This isn’t the only Huawei debut coming soon. The company is slated to launch a third-generation foldable smartphone on February 22nd, dubbed the Mate X2, and is likely to be based on the flagship Kirin 9000 chip.
