Today, the Chinese company Huawei officially unveiled the long-awaited new generation flexible smartphone – the Mate X2 device, which will go on sale on February 25.
In terms of concept, the new product is similar to the Samsung Galaxy Fold devices: it is endowed with a main flexible screen that folds into the body and an auxiliary external display.
An improved hinge mechanism made with innovative materials is responsible for smooth opening/closing. The flexible internal OLED screen measures 8 inches diagonally, has a resolution of 2480 × 2200 dots, a refresh rate of 90 Hz, and a polling rate of the sensor layer of 180 Hz. Outside there is a 6.45-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2700 × 1160 pixels, a refresh rate of 90 Hz, and a response rate of 240 Hz.
The smartphone has a proprietary Kirin 9000 processor with eight cores (up to 3.13 GHz), a Mali-G78 graphics accelerator, and a 5G modem. The amount of RAM is 8 GB.
The novelty received a quadruple-camera in the following configuration: a 50-megapixel unit with optical stabilization, a 16-megapixel module with ultra-wide-angle optics (f / 2.2), a 12-megapixel telephoto unit with 3x zoom and optical stabilization, and an 8-megapixel module with 10x optical zoom and optical stabilization. There is a 16MP front camera.
Responsible for power is a rechargeable battery with a capacity of 4500 mAh with support for 55-watt charging. Dimensions are 161.8 × 74.6 (145.8 mm open) × 14.7 (8.2 mm open) mm, weight – 295 g. The operating system is Android 10 with the EMUI 11.0 add-on.
The Mate X2 will go on sale with a flash drive of 256 and 512 GB. Price – $ 2785 and $ 2940.
