We have already mentioned that Huawei plans to use the MediaTek platform in their smartphones more often and more: it has already spoken and the head of the brand Honoron the same point and benchmarks, which lit up the first Huawei model SoC Dimensity 800. According to the Japanese publication Nikkei (by the way, it was the first to report that TSMC stopped accepting Huawei orders for single-chip Kirin platforms due to new U.S. sanctions ), Huawei is in talks with two companies to purchase single-chip platforms in large enough quantities. One of them is Taiwanese MediaTek, the other is Beijing Ziguang Zhanrui, which is behind single-chip platforms under the UNISOC trademark (formerly Spreatrum). Huawei has previously worked with these two companies, but now we are talking about much larger volumes of supplies ” as alternative products to support the consumer electronics business .”

Recall that the new US sanctions regulate the impossibility of producing single-chip HiSilicon Kirin platforms on equipment with American technology. The ban will enter into force on September 14, but Huawei managed to place a large order at TSMC – for $ 700 million. It is expected that the company’s single-chip systems will last until the end of the year. In parallel, work is underway to find alternative suppliers.

Despite the new attacks on Huawei from the United States, the company remains calm and reasonably argues that sanctions will complicate the lives of not only Huawei but also many thousands of ordinary Americans. True, the statistics on sales of Huawei smartphones are not happy yet: for the first time in a long time, a decline has been recorded.
