Huawei will release advanced smartphones Nova 9 on the Kirin 990E platform
Internet sources report that Huawei is preparing a new series of advanced smartphones – Nova 9. The announcement of these devices is expected this year.
In December 2020, the Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro smartphones debuted. They received a Full HD + screen, a quad camera with a 64-megapixel main sensor, and a proprietary Kirin 985 processor with the ability to work in 5G cellular networks.
Little is known about the Nova 9 smartphones at the moment. It is claimed that their “heart” will be the Kirin 990E chip. This solution combines two Cortex-A76 cores at up to 2.86 GHz, two Cortex-A76 cores at 2.36 GHz, and four Cortex-A55 cores 1.95 GHz. The graphics unit uses the Mali-G76 accelerator.
It can be assumed that the new series will include at least two models – Nova 9 and Nova 9 Pro. Smartphones will get a display with a high refresh rate. Of course, 5G support will be implemented.
Other details and the date of the announcement have not yet been disclosed. Apparently, new items will debut no earlier than the fourth quarter of this year.
According to Gartner estimates, in the last quarter of 2020, Huawei was the fifth largest smartphone supplier with a share of about 8.9%.
