The fact is that until then, Huawei did not participate in the development of the key infrastructure of Telecom Italia, and it would have been unprofitable for the Italian operator to redraw the already existing ecosystem.

The head of the Italian representative of Huawei Technologies Luigi De Vecchi’s (Luigi De Vecchi’s) noted that the Chinese manufacturer will continue to cooperate in Italy not only with Telecom Italia but also with other market participants. In the case of the first telecom operator, we are talking about the supply of radio access means and antenna equipment used in the networks of the current generation. According to De Vekkis, Italy approaches the issues of cybersecurity from a professional point of view, without mixing politics. Huawei believes that if other countries in Europe follow the example of the UK, their network infrastructure will suffer substantial damage. It is noteworthy that in Italy last year a law was passed that allowed the authorities to veto the supply of foreign equipment for communication networks, but the government did not use it.
