According to the MyDrivers resource, Huawei has launched the process of clearing inventory in preparation for the release of a large number of new products. Their release is expected at the end of this year or the beginning of next year. There will be so many devices that it is called a “ flood in all directions,” meaning both the number and variety of new products.
At the same time, there is one very important point: from the beginning of 2024, new Huawei smartphones will use their own Kirin single-chip systems. Huawei will refuse to cooperate with the American Qualcomm.
Huawei will switch to its single-chip systems from 2024
Huawei has already shown that to introduce a successful top-end product to the home market, it is not at all necessary to use the latest Qualcomm SoC. The latest flagships Huawei Mate 60, Mate X5 Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 are built on the Kirin 9000S, and at least the Mate 60 line is being sold out very vigorously in China.
It is not yet clear what new Kirin SoCs Huawei is preparing. But if the company has launched production of the Kirin 9000S on a large scale, nothing prevents it from releasing new products based on it – while other single-chip systems are being developed and created.
For Qualcomm, this is bad news: according to analysts, in 2022, Qualcomm SoC deliveries to Huawei amounted to 23-25 million, this year the volume of SoCs is estimated at 40-42 million. But next year there will be a decline. And Huawei aims to completely abandon the Qualcomm SoC.
