Huawei will teach smart watches to prevent hypertension and pre-infarction
He Gang, President of Huawei’s Mobile Devices Division, spoke about the new features that the company’s wearable gadgets, such as smartwatches and fitness bracelets, could get in the future.
One of the areas of work is the determination of blood pressure with high accuracy. For this, it is planned to use special medical-grade sensors integrated into wearable devices. The data obtained, coupled with the expertise of experts in the relevant field, are expected to help prevent hypertension.
The second project is the continuous measurement of body temperature with high accuracy. These data will help in predicting the possible deterioration of the body’s condition in connection with the development of certain diseases.
Finally, Huawei plans to implement the ability to detect coronary heart disease in wearable gadgets. In theory, mobile devices could predict pre-infarction, which could save many lives.
It is noted that this year Huawei may release a smart watch Watch 3 Series or Watch GT 3 Series. It is possible that these gadgets will implement some of the described features.
