“I don’t give up and hope to change”: The Witcher 3 Development Lead Leaves CD Projekt RED
Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier in new material on the publication’s website, said that the head of development for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, had left CD Projekt RED.
According to Schreier, the reason for leaving was an internal investigation by the studio. The developer was suspected of harassment of employees, in which Tomashkevich himself denied involvement.
The result was in favor of Tomashkevich, but this did not affect his decision to part with CD Projekt RED: “Many people still feel fear, stress or discomfort when working with me. “
Finally, Tomashkevich apologized to his colleagues for creating hostile situations and promised to improve: “I will continue to work on myself. Behavior correction is a long and difficult process, but I am not giving up and hope to change. “
According to Bloomberg, Tomaszkiewicz was to play a “significant role” in the next CD Projekt RED game in the fantasy action RPG series The Witcher.
In a comment requested by Bloomberg, Tomashkevich confirmed his departure from CD Projekt RED and said he was “sad, [he] is a little upset and humble. ” The representative of the studio refused to provide a statement about the situation.
Tomashkevich got a job at CD Projekt RED in the winter of 2004 (February) and has since worked his way up from junior tester of the original The Witcher to co-director of development and head of production for Cyberpunk 2077.
