Overall annual shipments are expected to reach 99.7 million units
Market analyst IDC predicts sales of “traditional” personal computers, which IDC includes desktops, laptops and workstations, will reach 99.7 million units this year in the EMEA region, which includes Europe, the Middle East and Africa. This value corresponds to an increase of 19.8% over the previous year.
IDC estimates EMEA PC sales to grow 17.2% this quarter
This forecast includes 22.4 million PCs, which are estimated to ship in the current quarter. Growth is driven by the shift to telecommuting, learning and entertainment, analysts said.
IDC sees the largest segment in ultra-thin laptops. It is expected that their share this year will be 45.5%, and by 2025 will increase to 54.3%. In second place are ordinary laptops, the share of which this year will be equal to 26.0%, and in 2025 will decrease to 17.6%. This is followed by regular desktop PCs. This year they will account for 16.3% of supplies, and in 2025 – 13.6%. The share of convertible notebooks this year will be 8.6%, all-in-one PCs – 3.6%. In 2025, the systems of the last two categories will occupy 10.8% and 3.7% of the market.
