In police uniform and with a Stan Lee mustache: unused suit found in Marvel’s Spider-Man

A YouTube user under the pseudonym jedijosh920 posted a video on his channel in which he showed a costume from the action Marvel’s Spider-Man from Insomniac Games that had not reached the release version.

We are talking about the so-called Spider-Cop – a playful alter-ego of Spider-Man, which the superhero sometimes uses in conversations with the captain of the New York police Yuri Watanabe.

According to jedijosh920, in the files of Marvel’s Spider-Man, the Spider-Cop model has been completely preserved, which is demonstrated in the video: a cap, jacket, and belt are worn over the usual spider suit.

In addition to its shape, Spider-Cop boasts a relatively thick mustache, which in the files is associated with Stan Lee – one of the creators of the concept of Spider-Man.

Each costume in the game comes with a special skill. Only scraps of references were found in Spider Cop’s files: one of the abilities allowed a group of police officers to be called for help, and the other was associated with a donut.

The developers did not provide the police look and animations, which is why during the demonstration the Spider Cop flies around the city and performs the rest of the actions in a frozen A-shaped pose.

Marvel’s Spider-Man was released in September 2018 exclusively on PS4. Until the end of 2020, the superhero action game will receive an independent expansion of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which is intended for the PS5.
