Kevin Spacey has been acquitted of all charges
In a U.K. trial, American actor Kevin Spacey was found not guilty of all sexual assault charges on Wednesday. The 64-year-old Academy Award-winning actor had faced nine sexual offense charges related to incidents reported by four men that allegedly occurred between 2001 and 2013.
Spacey pleaded not guilty to all charges and was acquitted in London’s Southwark Crown Court. The charges included sexual assault, causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent, and causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity.
Throughout the trial, all four alleged victims, whose names cannot be disclosed under U.K. law, testified, along with Spacey himself, who expressed feeling crushed by the allegations.
During their testimonies, the four men described Spacey as a “sexual bully” and a predator.
Previously known for his role in the Netflix series “House of Cards,” Spacey was fired in 2017 after fellow actor Anthony Rapp accused him of prior sexual misconduct. However, a jury in Massachusetts later found him not liable for those allegations.
