In the US, they began distributing free AirTags and tags for Android to combat mass car thefts

This will allow you to track the cars

Washington, D.C., police are the second in the country to give out free Apple AirTags and similar gadgets to Android users to combat a surge in car thefts.

The Metropolitan Police Department has distributed free AirTags and tracking devices to residents, especially in eastern Washington, where most of the hijackings have been reported. According to MPD data, the city recorded 866 carjackings, of which 637 involved a firearm. 144 arrests were made, 65% of which were minors.

In the US, they began distributing free AirTags and tags for Android to combat mass car thefts

The surge in thefts and thefts, especially of Kia and Hyundai vehicles, is due to the lack of basic anti-theft devices in some models. A trend known as Kia Boys has become noticeable since 2019, and thefts of these brands have increased significantly in recent months. The DC government has decided to combat this by providing free tracking devices. It has become an additional tool for quickly locating stolen vehicles, according to MPD Sergeant Anthony Walsh.

AirTag devices are provided to residents along with exclusive location control rights. This allows them to easily track their vehicles and provide location information in the event of theft.

Let us remind you that due to the massive theft of Hyundai and Kia cars, the companies are accused of fraud and demand more than $1 billion .
