They will be produced at a factory in the city of Noida.
Samsung has announced that the phones of the latest Gakaxy S23 line for the Indian market will be produced in India itself – at a factory in the city of Noida (it is located in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh).
This generation of Samsung flagships does not use the proprietary Exynos SoC, so the Indian Galaxy S23, like all others, will be built on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with slightly overclocked CPU and GPU. Made in India phones are designed primarily for the home market, but they may also be shipped to neighboring countries.
Recall that Samsung is now number one in the smartphone market in India. In the last quarter of 2022, according to data from Canalys, the company overtook Xiaomi, which had previously been the local number one for 20 consecutive quarters. So, for the 4th quarter of last year, Samsung sold 6 million smartphones in India, while Xiaomi sold only 5.5 million smartphones. Moreover, with the result of 6.4 million phones sold, Xiaomi was ahead of Vivo.
