Inspiration, freedom and pacifism: the third major patch for Baldur’s Gate 3 has been released

Larian Studios has shared details of the third major patch for its ambitious role-playing game Baldur’s Gate 3 as part of a new fan appeal on Steam.

This update was the first for Baldur’s Gate 3 to be incompatible with the saves from the previous version. The limitation is due to the number of fixes introduced by the latest patch.

The patch is called “Inspiration, Freedom, and Pacifism” because the game now shows inspiration points in the interface, supports cross-saves (Steam, GOG, Stadia), and rewards for avoiding battles.

In addition, in the new version, the developers have tried to make the companions more friendly: from now on, the companions will stop clinging to the hero for every little thing and will start paying more attention to what they like.

Also, Larian Studios has made changes to the high-profile skill tests – the chance of success in them has increased. Thus, the authors want to prevent situations when the game, due to its ruthlessness, deprived users of some of the content.

Among other things, the patch taught companions to follow the hero through obstacles automatically, added another short rest as a reward for a long rest, and much more.

In a video timed to coincide with the release of the third patch, the head of Larian Studios, Swen Vincke, also mentioned that the fourth major update for Baldur’s Gate 3 will be released after the New Year holidays.
