Intel Comet Lake-S processors fail to shatter AMD Ryzen’s dominance in MindFactory sales

The July statistics of processor sales in the German online store MindFactory showed that the Intel Core i7-10700K model was in seventh place in popularity in volume terms and in fourth in terms of revenue. For a debutant in May in an environment skewed towards AMD products, it was a great result, but no miracle happened.

The August version of analytical materials on processor sales by MindFactory published by the well-known statistics enthusiast Ingebor says that Core i7-10700K dropped from seventh to ninth place in terms of the number of copies sold, and in monetary terms, it also dropped two positions, but from the fourth to sixth.

And yet, the August statistics of MindFactory allows us to speak of some revenge for Intel products, since in physical terms its share increased from 15 to 16%, while AMD processors were sold slightly less than in the previous month, and their share decreased from 85 to 84 %.

In terms of revenue, the alignment of forces did not change compared to July, AMD accounted for 81%, Intel processors provided the store with 19% of all revenue in this area, but the total revenue slightly decreased.

In physical terms, the most popular processors in August remained Ryzen 5 3600, Ryzen 7 3700X, and Ryzen 9 3900X, but Ryzen 5 3400G climbed three positions to fifth place, and not the freshest Ryzen 7 2700X took seventh place, starting in July from the very tail of the first tens. It is now rounded out by the Intel Core i9-9900K processor, which rose from the eleventh place. The Core i7-10700K processor dropped from seventh to ninth place.
