And not the fastest memory
The official premiere of Intel Raptor Lake Refresh processors will take place only in September, but the CPU series is already being tested with might and main by both companies and, apparently, individuals. One of these private users managed to overclock the Core i7-14700K to 6.3 GHz.
It is noteworthy that not the most modern motherboard was used for this – MSI MPG Z690 EDGE TI WIFI DDR4. For compatibility with the CPU, the latest firmware version was installed on it – E7D31IMS.AD0. Already by the name of the motherboard, it is clear that the memory used was also not the most advanced – DDR4 (16 GB).
Intel Core i7-14700K overclocked to 6.3 GHz using not the latest motherboard
The BIOS photo shows that the CPU not only overclocked to 6.3 GHz (with a voltage of 1.39 V, it was clearly necessary to take care of good cooling) – the computer booted up after this overclocking. But how stable he worked further, one can only guess. But if everything was fine, then it would be possible to post photos / screenshots of tests in benchmarks – in the same Cinebench, for example.
According to preliminary data, the Core i7-14700K will be a 20-core processor with 8 large cores and 12 small ones. Accordingly, the CPU will be able to execute 28 threads simultaneously. The maximum frequency will be 5.6 GHz, TDP – 125 W, the price is about $ 410.
