With Kaby Lake-G processors
Intel has announced the discontinuation of the Hades Canyon NUC mini PC. The model debuted two years ago on 8th Gen Intel Core Kaby Lake-G processors.
Intel discontinues Hades Canyon NUC mini PCs
The Hades Canyon Mini PC replaces Skull Canyon and is the first NUC to feature processors other than Intel. Kaby Lake-G processors are a rare example of competitors like AMD and Intel joining together. These processors use Intel Kaby Lake microarchitecture and AMD Vega graphics.
Intel discontinued Kaby Lake-G processors in October last year. So the cancellation of the Hades Canyon NUC was only a matter of time.
Intel has posted a new Product Change Notification (PCN) on its website with the NUC8i7HNK and NUC8i7HVK canceled. Both devices are based on Kaby Lake-G quad-cores – NUC8i7HNK based on Core i7-8705G, and NUC8i7HVK based on Core i7-8809G.
Of course, the Intel NUC8i7HNK and NUC8i7HVK won’t disappear from the shelves overnight. Intel has given customers the option to place their final orders through November 27th. The last deliveries will take place on January 29, 2021.
