They can be as similar as possible

Just a couple of weeks ago, we saw Intel’s roadmap mentioning the Raptor Lake processors due out after the upcoming Alder Lake.

Intel has confirmed the existence of “raptors”. Raptor Lake processors side by side in documents with Alder Lake

And now Intel itself has confirmed the existence of the corresponding plans, and the name of the new line, except that there is, of course, no data on the release dates and technical parameters.

At the same time, Intel documents clearly hint that Raptor Lake will retain the LGA 1700 socket, since they are listed along with Alder Lake in the documentation. At the same time, we recall that there were rumors that Raptor Lake will be simply an improved version of Alder Lake processors. While this question remains open, such proximity in Intel documents may mean precisely the maximum similarity of the two CPU lines.

According to past data, they should be released in 2022.
