Intel has confirmed work on Raptor Lake processors. They will replace Alder Lake
Intel has indirectly confirmed the development of the Raptor Lake-S processors, which will feature in the 13th generation of Core chips. Two weeks ago, online sources shared the first technical features of these chips. According to the VideoCardz resource, information about Raptor Lake-S appeared on the Intel repository site, containing various technical documentation.
One of the documents confirms that the Raptor Lake-S and Alder Lake-S processors will target the same LGA 1700 platform. The manufacturer’s website also contains documents with an Intel roadmap, which was relevant for the fourth quarter of 2020. Unfortunately, none of the above documents are in the public domain.
It was previously reported that the Raptor Lake-S series processors are slated for 2022. The new chips will offer an improved hybrid architecture of large and small cores, an optimized cache memory stack for gaming tasks, and a complete transition to DDR5 RAM.
Like the predecessors of the 12th generation Intel Core, Raptor Lake-S processors will be presented in both the desktop and mobile segments.
