Intel will talk about the development of future technical processes on March 23
Intel has announced an event next week called Intel Unleashed: Engineering the Future. The event is scheduled for next Tuesday, March 23, from 22:00 to 23:00 Moscow time.
The event’s announcement indicated that Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger would talk about “a new era of Intel innovation and technology leadership. ” It is impossible to say for sure what exactly is hidden behind this wording, but we assume that it will be about Intel’s promising technological processes.
As you know, Intel has been experiencing difficulties in mastering new technical processes for quite a long time. The company very much delayed the release of the 10nm technical process. Currently, it is used only in the mobile segment, and server and desktop chips continue to be produced according to 14nm standards. Also, Intel is not just given to master the 7-nm technical process, but the company does not intend to give up this business.
The release of the first 7nm Intel products is scheduled for 2023. However, there are rumors that the company will entrust its release to a third-party manufacturer since it will not be able to master the specified technology by the appointed time. During his inauguration, Gelsinger stated that he is confident that ” most of Intel’s 2023 products will be manufactured by the company itself .”
However, at the same time, he added that he needed time to study the state of affairs with the development of the 7-nm technical process. We assume that Gelsinger has got to the heart of the matter and is ready to share the details with the general public.
