Is there a problem with the drivers?

The preliminary test results of Intel Tiger Lake processors, in particular their graphics component, indicated that, firstly, the GPU Xe is much faster than its predecessors, and, secondly, they are on par with the entry-level discrete GPUs like the GeForce MX350. But in fact, it turned out that the integrated Intel Xe graphics have big problems with games.

Intel’s proud Iris Xe integrated graphics have big problems in games

A well-known laptop testing resource has managed to get its hands on a “laptop that will be released soon” with a Tiger Lake CPU and an Iris Xe G7 GPU. And in games, one might say, he failed. And we are not talking about a low frame rate: non-loading textures, color “anomalies” and simply banal crashes (when changing graphics settings or just trying to load a level or a previous save) – this is what the laptop was able to demonstrate. Problems have been reported in games such as Division 2, Doom Eternal, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Horizon Zero Dawn, Hunt Showdown, and Apex Legends.

Testers note that the problem is likely to be found in the drivers, so in production notebooks it will probably be solved – if not completely, then at least partially. But at this stage, even the basic level discrete Nvidia GPUs look preferable at least due to better driver optimization, not to mention the increased performance of the GeForce MX450 relative to the MX350.
